All customers restored at 3:45 p.m.

Repairs were made to a defective lightning arrester. 

The Guam Power Authority advises that there is an unscheduled power outage in progress:

Reported at 1:51 p.m.
Cause/Findings:  GPA crews en-route to determine cause of the power outage
Estimated Time of Outage:  Unknown at this time

The area(s) affected include:  Ipan, Talofofo – All of Cruz Heights area; approximately 80 customers

REASON:  GPA crews will advise assessment and restoration time shortly.

The Guam Power Authority advises that there will be a power outage on:

Tuesday, 25 February 2020
From 09:00am – 1:00pm (4 hours)

The area(s) affected include:  Asan/Maina: parts of Maina from Murray Road to the Bordallo and
Diaz areas, Cherreta Street, Angoco area, Binakle Road, Navy H-frame P-138 and customers in the surrounding areas.

Two 30-minute interruption(s) of service: at 09:00am and again at 1:00pm will affect residents of Maina village and the Murray Road area.

Reason:  GPA line crews will be performing maintenance work to improve power quality and reliability.

Motorists are advised there will be traffic flow modifications in the area of Binakle Road and Route 6; including the possibility of traffic being reduced to one lane, or closed, if necessary for safety reasons.

Motorists, please proceed with caution in this work areas and when driving near road side crews.

6:30PM UPDATE 12 FEBRUARY 2020 Parts of Talofofo and along Route 17 to Apra Heights Area


UNSCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE IN PROGRESS–
Due to Earlier Large Fire in Area
Parts of Talofofo and along Route 17 to Apra Heights Area
UPDATE

The fire was extinguished and GPA crews are working to replace a 55-foot power pole, with lines and hardware(s).

GPA has re-routed power to all customers in the area affected by the earlier outage.

At the time the new power pole is set in place, and the line and hardware(s) ready to be energized, customers can expect a brief 10-minute outage.

Customers affected in the area: Talofofo, from the Talofofo Golf Course area along the left side to Route 17 towards Apra Heights, Bishop C. Flores Street, past the GPA wind turbine

Customers using backup generators, please ensure your main breaker is in the OPEN position to ensure the safety of the GPA crews working on the lines.

Unscheduled Power Outage in Progress Notice for the Talofofo Area

End Date: Wednesday, 12 February 2020 TBD

The Guam Power Authority advises that an unscheduled power outage is in progress.

GPA received a report of a fire in the area. GPA crews drove to the site and observed fire flames burning high nearly reaching the GPA power lines.

Power has been interrupted to the area:  in Talofofo, from the Talofofo Golf Course area along the left side to Route 17 towards Apra Heights, Bishop C. Flores Street, past the GPA wind turbine

Power Out Time:  3:40pm
Estimated Power Restoration Time:  to be determined

REASON:  GPA crews are troubleshooting and will restore once the fire has been extinguished and a determination has been made that it is safe to restore power to the area.
